MYGAMEMYLIFE™(MGML) is an excellence through sport program designed to help athletes identify and use athletic transferable skills for success in sports, but more importantly, in life!

“My Game” is a metaphor for young athletes to think about as it applies to taking the skills they have learned about in sports and applying them to life (“My Life”). While this connection may be apparent to some people, for many athletes (particularly younger athletes) the connection is not always so clear.

MGML is a dedicated, educational campaign to teach athletes the importance of athletic transferable skills, and remind them of these skills through various clothing and sports gear (i.e. t-shirts, dog tags, water bottles, etc.). By identifying the value in athletic transferable skills, athletes will improve their self-confidence, leading to greater overall life development – and life success.

The 4 components of MGML: Focus, Believe, Commit, Achieve
The MGML educational model is quite simple, yet incredibly effective. Using a succinct, linear teaching method student athletes can develop their own life goals (example below):
FOCUS: You must become clear with what you want to accomplish in life. Like the old saying goes, you can become anything in life you want to be, but you cannot become everything. The first step is to understand your personal values, minimize distractions, and clearly focus on what it is you would like to accomplish in life.
BELIEF: In order for something in life to happen, like reaching a goal, you must believe you have the talent and abilities to do so. A person’s level of self-efficacy, or in simpler terms, confidence, is dependent in large part to the power of belief.
COMMIT: When going for goals in life you must have a passion and conviction that is accelerated through intrinsic motivation. Being committed means not giving up, and not listening to critics who say you cannot do something.
ACHIEVE: By following through the first three steps (focus, belief, commitment) you have put yourself in a terrific position to achieve. The feeling of success that comes with achievement is invaluable, but we urge athletes to take these accomplishments and use them to help other athletes increase their self confidence by broadening their athletic identity and investing in life goals in the same way they do sport goals.
